Contributor Reports

As a translator or a proofreader, you can check your position in the top members list and calculate a price for your contributions. You can also overview project progress and track your contributions for a specific period. For this use Reports in Translations section.

Reports tab

There are 3 main types of reports available for translators and proofreaders:

  • Top Members – see a list of top members to check your position on the list and see who contributed the most.
  • My contribution – calculate translation or proofreading costs to know an approximate amount of how much you should get.
  • Project reports – check the size of the project, and see the progress of translations and proofreadings.

Top Members

Report that allows you to check your position on the list of project members and see who contributed the most. The original ranking is based on the number of Translated text units. A member who translated the most is on the top of the list. You can choose another parameter and click on its name to re-sort the members. For example, if you are a proofreader, you might want to know who has approved most of the strings. For that, click on the Approved parameter to redo default sorting.

Top members

To generate a list of top members set a date range for which you want to see the activity and the text unit (words, strings, characters, or characters with spaces). By default, Strings are selected as the text unit.

Top members

The list includes members of all languages. To generate a report for a specific language choose the language from the drop-down menu above the list. To look for your account or account of any other contributor, use the search field next to the drop-down menu.

Top members filtered

The list has the following columns:

  • Name – contributor name and username
  • Languages – project languages
  • Translated – the number of translated source text units
  • Target – the number of translated text units in a target language. This parameter is not available for Strings text unit, because the amount of source and translated strings is always the same
  • Approved – the number of approved text units
  • Votes – the number of votes a contributor made

My Contribution

Report that allows you to estimate the price for your translations or proofreading.

If you are a professional proofreader or translator, it’s recommended to set rates for your services in Account Settings. According to those rates, the invoice for payment is issued.

To generate the contribution report you should follow 4 steps:

  1. Choose the currency and the text unit you need in the upper-right corner.
    My contribution. Parameters
  2. Choose the date range of your contribution.
  3. Set the rates for approvals and translations.
  4. Click Generate.
Note: If you click Generate button without setting rates in the report the system will show the report based on the rates you set in Account Settings.

When the report is generated you’ll be able to see:

  • Total amount – general price for proofreadings and translations for all languages
  • Subtotals – separate prices for translations and proofreadings for each language

You can then use Export Report button to download the report in CSV or XLSX format. My contribution

If you want to regenerate the report with other rates, click Edit Rates button in the upper-right corner and follow the procedure again.

Setting Rates

Rates for Proofreading:

  • Approval – for the text unit you approved if you are the proofreader.

Rates for Translations:

  • Translation – for the text unit you translated.
  • TM translation – for the text unit you translated using Translation Memory suggestions. It works for Perfect (source strings are identical to TM suggestion by text and context) and 100% (source strings are identical to TM suggestion only by text) matches.
You might also enable Fuzzy TM matches option if there are separate rates for TM match ranges.

In case you are multilingual and work with different languages, you can set separate rates for each of them using Add Custom Rates button. For example, in the screenshot below, all the languages except French have default rates for proofreading.

Fuzzy TM matches

Fuzzy TM matches – a similar, but not identical, matches to the source segment found in a translation memory.

Enable Fuzzy TM matches option to set separate translation rates for different match ranges:

  • Translation – there is no TM suggestion for the string and translation is made by hand.
  • Perfect Match – TM suggestion has the same context as the source string.
  • 100% Match – TM suggestion has the same text as the source string, but the context is different.
  • Three other TM match percentage ranges. To adjust the range of TM match percentage click on the default percentage and apply the range you need. The lowest percentage for TM Matches is 40%.

Project Reports

Project Size

Check the total amount of texts in the project under the Project Size. You can also see the amount of such texts:

  • Translatable – for translation
  • Hidden – should not be translated
  • Duplicates – repeating within the project

This report might be generated based on the following parameters: words, strings, characters, and characters with spaces.

Project Size

Project Summary

Check translation and proofreading activities for different periods. You can use this report to compare your contribution to overall project activity.

There are 4 periods available: day, week, 30 days, and a year. The graphs are generated based on the parameter you choose for the Project Size.

By hovering over the dots on the graph, you can see the exact numbers of all translated texts. You can also check numbers of translations done with the help of Machine Translations (MT) and Translation Memory (TM).

Project Summary

You can highlight a specific section on the graph by hovering over the parameter title.

Project Summary. Highlight section

Click on the parameter title to hide a section from the graph and to bring it back when needed.
Use this option to analyze just specific parameters on the graph.
