Project Reports

To check your project status, estimate and count the translation costs, keep track of the most active members, and make sure there is no abusive translations and comments in the project use reports tab.

For each report you can choose a report unit:

  • Strings
  • Words
  • Characters without spaces
  • Characters with spaces

Note: for Abuse Reports, the report unit for suggestions is set to strings by default. Because the whole string or comment counts as an abusive, not each separate word.

To export a generated report to your computer click Export and choose the file format you need (CSV or XLSX).

Project Status

To track the progress in your project check major activities based on time periods and get a translation completion forecast.

On the top of the page major statistics regarding your project is listed:

  • Size – the total amount of text in the project
  • Translatable – the amount of text visible for translators
  • Hidden – the amount of text hidden from translators. Owner and managers can see it
  • Duplicates – the amount of text in strings repeating within the project

Checking Activities

In the Dashboard, you can check activities based on 4 time periods: day, week, month and year. Comparisons shown in percentage are counted by comparing the chosen period of time to the same previous period of time (e.g. If you choose month current month would be compared to the previous month).

Translation Activity

This chart shows the total amount of text translated, text translated by Translation Memory and text translated by Machine Translations for all languages. To check the text translated for each language separately click the expand arrow.

Proofreading Activity

This chart shows the total amount of text approved and votes made for all languages. To check the text approved and votes made for each language separately click the expand arrow.

Source Strings Activity

This chart shows the total amount of source text added and removed.

Translation Completion Forecast

To plan the overall translation process check the Translation Completion Forecast. Which is based on the project activity for the last 14 days. Сhart shows an approximate time, up to which certain language is expected to be translated if the existing tempo is preserved.

Cost Estimation

To plan your budget count the approximate cost of translations. Cost Estimation allows you to set the translation rates and see the approximate cost for translation of currently untranslated strings in the project.

Note: Final translation costs might differ due to different factors such as added or deleted texts, two people translating the same string into the same language (they will be both counted in the translation costs) and on.

Generating a Report

To generate the estimated cost report you should follow 4 steps:

  1. Choose the currency you need and the report unit
  2. Set your rates for translators and proofreaders
  3. Choose the target language you are counting these rates for and the period of time during which the source text you are interested in was modified or added to your project
  4. Click Generate

Note: rates are automatically saved after you click Generate

Simple Mode Report

This mode is used by default and allows you count estimated translation and proofreading costs.

You can set the following rates:

  • Default – suggested translations. If the string has several translations made by the same person only one of them will be counted. If the string has several suggestions made by different people each of them will be counted.
  • TM Match – suggested translations made with the help of Perfect TM Match (text units are identical as well as the context)or 100% (text units are identical, but the context is not) Repetitions would be counted at the rate you set for TM matches.
  • Approval – approved translations

When the report is generated you’ll be able to see:

  • The cost for translation and proofreading
  • The amount of untranslated, having no match (untranslated with no TM match and repetitions), possible TM match, repetitions (Perfect and 100% matches found among the untranslated strings, that potentially can be added to TM) and unapproved text
  • Table with the list of untranslated and unapproved files in the project. With columns that include the amount of untranslated, unapproved, having 100% TM Match text and repetitions in each file listed

Fuzzy TM Matching Mode Report

This mode allows you set rates for translations with Translation Memory match suggestions of different similarity percentage.

You can set the following rates:

  • Translation – suggested translations. If the string has several translations made by the same person only one of them will be counted. If the string has several suggestions made by different people each of them will be counted.
  • Translation with Match from Translation Memory – translations made with the help of Perfect TM Match (text units are identical as well as the context), 100% (text units are identical, but the context is not) and other text similarity percentage of TM matches. Repetitions would be counted at the rate you set for 100% TM matches.
  • Approval – approved translations

To adjust the range of text similarity percentage click on the default percentage and apply the range you need.

  • Table with the listed amount of Perfect, 100% and three other ranges or similarity percentage of TM matches found within the project
  • Table with the list of untranslated and unapproved files in the project. With columns that include the amount of untranslated, unapproved, having TM Match text and repetitions in each file listed

Calculate Internal Fuzzy Matches

To get a more deliberate report that includes prediction of internal fuzzy matches check the Calculate Internal Fuzzy Matches box.

This way all the internal matches would be counted, to check how many strings can be added to TM if the strings are translated one by one as listed. Keep in mind that calculations are approximate because strings might be translated in a different order.

Note: repetitions would be counted at the rates you set for the Translation with TM match suggestion.

When the report is generated you’ll be able to see:

  • The cost for translation and proofreading
  • The amount of untranslated, having no match (untranslated with no TM match and internal match), possible TM match, internal match (strings that can be added to TM if the strings are translated one by one as listed) and unapproved text
  • Table with the listed amount of TM and Internal Matches of different similarity percentage within the strings in the project
  • Table with the list of untranslated and unapproved files in the project. Сolumns include the amount of untranslated, unapproved, having TM Match and Internal Match text in each file listed

Adding Individual Rates

You can create regular rates for one or all the target languages you are translating into or you can add individual rates for some specific languages.
To add individual rates click on the More Options icon and choose Add Rates.

To choose the language or languages for individual rates click Edit Languages and then mark the ones you need. You can create as many individual rates as you need.

Translation Costs

To pay your translators and proofreaders calculate the real translation costs.

Generating a Report

To generate the translation costs report you should follow 5 steps:

  1. Choose the currency and the report unit.
  2. Set your rates for translators and proofreaders.
  3. Choose the period during which translations and approves were made in your project.
  4. Choose whether you want to group the report by language or by user.
  5. Click Generate.

Note: rates are automatically saved after you click Generate.

  • Approval – approved translations

When the report is generated you’ll be able to see:

  • Information about translators: profile picture, login, and registered name
  • Costs: total and separate for each translator (for all his contributions, for his contributions to a specific language, distinguished for translated and approved text by him)

Top Members

To see who contributed the most to your project’s translation generate a list of translators based on time periods.

Generating a List of Top Members

To generate a list of top members set a time period for which you want to see the activity of translators and the report unit.

When you set the parameters click Generate to see the list.

By default, the list would include translators for all languages. To make a list of translators for a specific language choose the language you need from the drop-down menu above the list.
To find a specific user use the search field next to the drop-down menu.To open the user’s profile page double-click on his name.

The list has the following columns:

  • Name – translators logins and registered names
  • Translated – the amount of translated source content
  • Target – the amount of translated target content (not available for strings report unit, because the amount of source and translated strings is always even)
  • Approved – the amount of approved content
  • Votes – a number of votes made

Abuse Reports

To ensure appropriate translations make sure to delete abusive comments and suggested translations.

Viewing Reported Abuse

You can view reported abuse in 2 modes:

  • Show abuse authors – people who suggested abusive translations or comments
  • Show abuse reporters – people who reported abusive translations or comments

Reported strings will be listed in the table below.
You would be able to Delete those suggestions and comments or mark them as Not Abuse.
In case you are not sure what to do with those strings you can open them in the editor to see additional context.

Blocking Abuse Authors

To block people leaving abusive comments and translations open their profile by clicking on their name highlighted in green under the list of translators or double-click the record.

Next, mark their role as blocked. Once you do this the translator you blocked won’t be able to make any contributions.
