Pseudolocalization is a method used for testing how the software will look like if being localized. Use this feature to eliminate potential localizability bugs modifying source strings before the actual project localization.
To pseudolocalize, do the following:
- Create a project
- Go to the Project Settings, Pseudolocalization tab
- Set required parameters described below
- Click Pseudolocalize and Download. As a result, you will get an archive with project files pseudo-translated.
- Integrate downloaded files with your software
Change the length of the strings to see how different languages fit your application UI. For example, Spanish texts are in average 25-30% longer than English, Japanese – 30%-60% shorter.

Add prefix and suffix to see how concatenated strings will look after the localization. It is also useful when expanding the translations length to see where the string starts and ends in your UI.
Check how your application works with the Asian hieroglyphics. Also, this can help you to find non-translatable texts in your application.
